• The 24th annual Norton KDH Run the Falls 5K was held last Saturday.

A total of 199 runners and walkers crossed the finish line of the 3.1 mile road course at Clifty Falls State Park. Bryan Wagner of Lawrenceburg was the top male finisher with a time of 17:18. Sue Nickol-Webb of Milton, Ky. was the top female finisher with a time of 22:49.

• Madison defeated Southwestern 25-15, 25-18 in seventh grade volleyball on Wednesday.

Izzy True was 14-for-17 serving with nine aces and three kills for the Bears, Claire Miller was 10-for-10 serving with four aces and had 11 setting attempts, Hannah Ferguson, Khloey Grubb and Emily Foster each had two kills, and Rachel Goley had a good all around game.

Madison, now 12-5, will wrap up its season this weekend at the Hauser Tournament.

• Southwestern junior varsity volleyball defeated New Washington 25-15, 20-25, 15-4 on Wednesday.

Britt Inman had five aces, seven kills and two digs for the Rebels, Jocelyn Johnson had two aces, 15 assists and five digs, and Jaden Davidson had four kills and a block.

Southwestern traveled to South Ripley on Thursday and hosts Switzerland County on Tuesday.

• Madison Junior High boys soccer defeated South Ripley 6-1 on Thursday.

Charles Schwartz had a hat trick to lead the Bears while Hudson Hall, Garrett Klein and Bryant Cline each scored a goal. William Overpeck had two assists and Wyatt Overpeck, Jameson Sheets and Giovani Robledo Lopez had one each. Wyatt Overpeck and Bentley Lock were the match MVPs.

On Tuesday, the boys reserve team tied Southwestern 2-2. Evan Elliott had a goal and an assist and Patrick Stewart had a goal for Madison. Bentley Lock was the match MVP.
